A caffeine pouch is caffeine packed into a small pouch that sits under your top lip. There's no tobacco in it, and none of the 13 flavours on this list contain nicotine either. We stock three ranges: Iceberg Energy 75mg, Denssi 100mg and Iceberg Energy 150mg. Below, each one is matched to how much caffeine you already have, with coffee comparisons and daily totals worked out. For the basics of how they work, see our caffeine pouches explainer.
Quick answer: For most adults, the best caffeine pouch we stock is Denssi 100mg Chaos Cola: about one cup of coffee per pouch at £3.99 a can. Pick Iceberg Energy 75mg Menthol for something milder, and keep the 150mg for strong-coffee drinkers who know how they react.
The best caffeine pouches at a glance
Here are all three tiers side by side. The coffee comparisons use published figures, not marketing copy.
| Pick | Caffeine per pouch | Rough coffee equivalent | Flavours | Price per can | Nicotine |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Iceberg Energy 75mg (best mild) | 75mg | About ¾ of a cup (NBC). Roughly a mug of tea, which is about 75mg (FSA) | Energy Mango, Menthol, Strawberry Mango | £4.55 | None |
| Denssi 100mg (best all-rounder) | 100mg | About 1 cup (NBC). The bottom of the FSA's 100–140mg mug-of-coffee range | Berry Beast, Chaos Cola, Southern Boost Peach Ice Tea, Tropical Fury, Viking Energy Original | £3.99 | None |
| Iceberg Energy 150mg (strongest we stock) | 150mg | About 1.5 cups (NBC). Just over the top of the FSA mug range | Arasaka, Black, Emerald, Sweet Mint, Watermelon Mint | £4.55 | None |
A note on cup sizes. NBC News describes a 200mg pouch as roughly two cups of coffee, and that's the basis for the cup column. The Food Standards Agency (guidance updated September 2026) puts a mug of coffee at about 100–140mg and says it can vary widely. Treat them as rough guides.
Multi-buy discount: 10% off when you buy 10 or more cans, 15% off at 20 or more, 20% off at 30 or more, applied automatically in the basket. For other buying questions, see where to buy caffeine pouches in the UK.
Best mild pick: Iceberg Energy 75mg
At 75mg a pouch, this is the lowest-caffeine pouch we stock. That's roughly a mug of tea and just under a 250ml energy drink, which the FSA puts at about 80mg. It suits adults who rarely drink coffee, or anyone who wants to keep their daily caffeine total low.
Menthol is the mint option in this tier. Strawberry Mango and Energy Mango are the fruity options.
The 75mg cans are £4.55, the same price as the 150mg range. We haven't confirmed the pouch count for the 75mg cans, so check the can if value per pouch matters to you.
One thing to watch: Iceberg's Energy Mango caffeine pouch shares its name with a 35mg Iceberg nicotine pouch. The check-the-can section below explains how to tell them apart.
Best all-rounder and cheapest can: Denssi 100mg
Denssi is the one we'd point most people towards. It has 100mg per pouch, about one cup of coffee. At £3.99 for any of the five flavours, it's the lowest single-can price of any caffeine pouch we stock.
The flavours are easy to read:
- Chaos Cola: cola.
- Southern Boost: peach iced tea.
- Berry Beast: mixed berries.
- Tropical Fury: tropical fruit.
- Viking Energy Original: energy-drink style.
If you want a familiar drink flavour, go for Chaos Cola or Southern Boost. Berry Beast is the mixed-berry option.
Use one pouch at a time. The maths section below shows how quickly pouches add up.
Denssi also sells 5.6mg and 11.2mg nicotine pouches: the Freeze range, Cold Mint and Spearmint. Make sure the product name says "Caffeine Pouches" before you add it to your basket.
Strongest we stock: Iceberg Energy 150mg
At 150mg a pouch, this is the top of our caffeine range and about one and a half cups of coffee. It costs £4.55 a can. The pouch count isn't confirmed for every Iceberg range, so we won't compare value per pound against the 75mg. Check the can for that.

On flavour, retailer descriptions give a rough idea. Sweet Mint is a sweet mint, Watermelon Mint is what it says, Arasaka is peach and Emerald is apple (retailers variously describe green apple or apple and pear). Sources disagree on what Black tastes like, so we won't guess.
150mg is the strongest we stock, and it's plenty. In NBC's report, Prof. Rob van Dam describes 200mg as "really the maximum amount that's being recommended in one sitting".
This tier is for adults who already handle strong coffee comfortably. Use one pouch at a time, and never two together.
How to choose by your caffeine tolerance
Pick based on how much caffeine you already have.
- Rarely drink coffee? Start with 75mg: Iceberg Energy Menthol, Strawberry Mango or Energy Mango.
- One coffee a day is normal for you? Denssi 100mg is the sensible match.
- A strong-coffee drinker who knows how you react? 150mg is an option, but it's a big dose. Don't double up.
For flavour, start from the drink you already like:
- Mint: Iceberg Menthol or Sweet Mint.
- Cola: Chaos Cola.
- Tea: Southern Boost.
- Fruit: Berry Beast, Tropical Fury, Arasaka or Emerald.
Whichever tier you choose, count every pouch towards your daily caffeine total alongside coffee, tea and energy drinks. The maths is further down.
Energy flavour isn't an energy pouch: check the can
This is the mistake we most want you to avoid. Iceberg and Denssi both sell nicotine pouches and caffeine pouches under the same brand name. On top of that, some nicotine pouches use "Energy" as a flavour name.
Before you buy: check that the product name and the can say "Caffeine Pouches" or "Energy Pouches", not "Nicotine Pouches". Don't rely on the flavour name, the brand or the mg number alone.
These products have "Energy" in the name but are nicotine pouches, not caffeine pouches:
- Iceberg 35mg nicotine pouches in Energy and Energy Mango.
- Killa Exclusive 13.2mg Energy.
They contain nicotine, which is addictive.
Which Iceberg is which
Several flavour names appear in both Iceberg ranges:
| Flavour name | Iceberg Energy (caffeine, no nicotine) | Iceberg nicotine range (listed as 35mg) |
|---|---|---|
| Arasaka | 150mg caffeine | 35mg nicotine |
| Black | 150mg caffeine | 35mg nicotine |
| Emerald | 150mg caffeine | 35mg nicotine |
| Sweet Mint | 150mg caffeine | 35mg nicotine |
| Watermelon Mint | 150mg caffeine | Listed as Watermelon Mint Gum and Capsule Watermelon Mint (35mg nicotine) |
| Energy Mango | 75mg caffeine | 35mg nicotine |
| Energy | Not a caffeine pouch | 35mg nicotine |
Iceberg's 35mg range is a very strong nicotine pouch. It isn't for anyone who isn't already used to strong pouches. You'll see both ranges together on the Iceberg brand page, so read the full product name.
The same check applies to Denssi. The brand sells 100mg caffeine pouches alongside 5.6mg and 11.2mg nicotine pouches, and the Denssi brand page lists both. If you don't use nicotine, stick to the three caffeine ranges covered above.
How much caffeine is too much? The pouch maths
Three reference figures matter here.
- Daily: NBC cites the FDA's figure of 400mg a day for most adults, and the FSA uses the same figure in the UK. That covers every source of caffeine across the day, not just pouches.
- Single dose: EFSA and the FSA use 200mg as their single-dose reference. The FSA advises no more than 200mg per serving of a caffeine supplement.
- Pregnancy: the FSA cites NHS advice of no more than 200mg a day.
Here's how quickly pouches add up:
| Combination | Total caffeine | Against the reference figures |
|---|---|---|
| 2 × 150mg pouches + one mug of coffee | 400–440mg | At or over the 400mg daily figure |
| 3 × 150mg pouches | 450mg | Over the daily figure |
| 4 × 100mg pouches, no coffee, tea or energy drinks | 400mg | At the daily figure |
| 5 × 75mg pouches | 375mg | One can of soft drink (about 40mg, FSA) takes you past 400mg |
| 2 × 150mg pouches at once | 300mg | Over the 200mg single-dose figure |
| 2 × 100mg pouches at once | 200mg | At the single-dose figure |
The FDA also points out that people vary widely in how sensitive they are to caffeine and how quickly they clear it. Plenty of people will feel caffeine well before they get near these figures.
Caffeine pouches vs energy drinks and coffee
The practical difference is format: there's no drink to carry or sip. Check the ingredients on the can if sugar or sweeteners matter to you. For comparison, the FSA puts a 250ml energy drink at about 80mg, so even our 75mg pouch is in the same territory.
The trade-off is pacing. NBC notes a pouch may hit faster than a drink, and van Dam puts it bluntly: "once it's absorbed, it's absorbed". With coffee or an energy drink, you can stop sipping halfway. With a pouch, you've already committed to the full dose.
Using caffeine pouches: timing, duration and side effects
NBC reports that a pouch typically lasts roughly 20 minutes to an hour, and that the effect can last longer than the pouch. The FSA says caffeine's effects may start 15–30 minutes after you take it and can last several hours.

Timing matters most for sleep. EFSA says a single 100mg dose may affect sleep for some adults, especially close to bedtime. Every pouch here is 75mg or more, so avoid late-evening use if caffeine affects your sleep.
Side effects are the same as with any caffeine. The FDA and FSA list:
- jitteriness
- a racing heart or palpitations
- trouble sleeping
- an upset stomach or nausea
- headaches
- anxiety, in caffeine-sensitive people
Then there are your gums. Stanford's Dr Robert Jackler told NBC that regularly placing anything between the lip and gum "may lead to gum recession and dental problems", especially if you do it all day. Move the pouch around the gum line and don't use them back to back. Our caffeine pouches guide covers side effects in more detail.
Already use nicotine pouches? Keep them separate
Caffeine pouches contain no nicotine and are a different product altogether. Some online threads frame them as a swap for nicotine pouches. We don't, and you shouldn't treat them as a way to quit, cut down or replace nicotine.
Don't use a caffeine pouch and a nicotine pouch at the same time. Both are stimulants, and stacking them adds up. NBC also notes that caffeine and nicotine pouches often look virtually identical. Keep the cans apart and clearly labelled, and check the can before you use one.
SnusBox sells to customers who confirm they're 18+, and this guide is written for adults. For nicotine-specific side effects, see our guide to nicotine pouch side effects.
What's not on this list, and the claims we won't make
This shortlist only covers caffeine pouches we stock and can vouch for on mg, flavour and price. We don't stock Belter, Tyga, HEX, Evo, NZE, Muse, GRINDS, or nootropic and lion's mane pouches. We won't rank or review them, or say anything about their ingredients or effects.
If you're comparing them, run the same three checks:
- How much caffeine is in each pouch?
- Does the can say caffeine or nicotine?
- How does it fit into your 400mg daily total?
You also won't find "focus", "performance", "clean energy", "no crash" or adaptogen claims on this page. Some listings for these products use that language. We cover mg, flavour, price and nicotine content, and leave the rest to your own judgement.
FAQs
Do caffeine pouches contain nicotine?
The caffeine pouches we stock contain no nicotine: Denssi 100mg and Iceberg Energy 75mg and 150mg. But Iceberg and Denssi also sell nicotine pouches, and some nicotine pouches use "Energy" as a flavour name, such as Iceberg 35mg Energy and Killa Exclusive Energy. Always check the product name and the can.
Is Iceberg Energy a caffeine pouch or a nicotine pouch?
Iceberg Energy 75mg and 150mg are caffeine pouches. Iceberg also makes 35mg nicotine pouches that share flavour names like Arasaka, Black, Emerald, Sweet Mint and Energy Mango. Check for "Energy Pouches" versus "Nicotine Pouches" before you buy.
What's the strongest caffeine pouch you can buy in the UK?
The strongest we stock is Iceberg Energy 150mg, about one and a half cups of coffee. NBC reports that some pouches sold elsewhere carry more than 200mg. Two 150mg pouches at once (300mg) would go well past the 200mg single-dose reference used by EFSA and the FSA.
Is a 50mg caffeine pouch a lot?
No. 50mg is less than a mug of tea, which the FSA puts at about 75mg, and a quarter of the 200mg single-dose reference figure. Our lowest pouch is 75mg, so if 50mg is your comfort level, treat 75mg as a step up.
Do caffeine pouches give you a buzz?
They deliver caffeine, so expect roughly what a coffee with the same mg does for you. How noticeable that is depends on your tolerance. NBC notes a pouch may hit faster than a drink and can't be paced like sipping. We make no focus or performance claims.
Is 200mg of caffeine too much in one go?
It's right at the limit. EFSA and the FSA use 200mg as their single-dose reference, and the FSA advises no more than 200mg per serving of a caffeine supplement. That's two Denssi pouches at once, while one 150mg pouch plus a mug of coffee goes over it.
How many caffeine pouches can you have in a day?
It depends on how much other caffeine you have. NBC cites the FDA's 400mg a day across all sources for most adults, which the FSA also uses. That's four 100mg pouches with no coffee, tea or energy drinks at all, and two 150mg pouches plus a mug of coffee already reaches 400–440mg.
How long do you keep a caffeine pouch in?
NBC reports pouches typically last roughly 20 minutes to an hour, and the effect can outlast the pouch. The FSA says caffeine's effects can start within 15–30 minutes and last several hours. Avoid late-evening use if caffeine affects your sleep.
Are caffeine pouches bad for your gums?
Stanford's Dr Robert Jackler told NBC that regularly placing anything between the lip and gum may lead to gum recession and dental problems, especially if done all day. Move the pouch around and don't use them back to back. Our caffeine pouches guide has more.
Can you use a caffeine pouch and a nicotine pouch together?
We'd advise against it, because both are stimulants. NBC also notes the two products often look virtually identical. Keep the cans separate and labelled, and check before you use one.
Does snus have caffeine?
Snus and nicotine pouches are nicotine products, while caffeine pouches are a separate product built around caffeine. Check the ingredients on any can rather than assuming. As of October 2026, selling traditional tobacco snus has been illegal in the UK since 1992 under the Tobacco for Oral Use (Safety) Regulations 1992. The Tobacco and Vapes Act 2026 re-enacts the ban from 29 October 2026 (s.8). SnusBox sells tobacco-free pouches only, and our guide to whether snus is legal in the UK covers the law in full.
The caffeine pouches recommended in this guide contain no nicotine. The nicotine pouches named in the check-the-can section do.
For adult nicotine users only (18+). Contains nicotine, which is an addictive substance.
